Clyde is located at 35°31′59″N 82°54′42″W (35.533021, -82.911686). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,324 people, 547 households, and 373 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,579.2 people per square mile (608.6/km²).
